Globalization Era

Globalization

There's a connection between us and the outside world. Do you have a car? or phone? where's that things made from? Japan? United State? China? its easy to us to see many goods in many place in Indonesia that's from the outside. Because there's a connection between all the country in the world. its called Globalization.

Globalization describes a process by which national and regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through the global network of trade, communication, immigration and transportation ( http://lexicon.ft.com/Term?term=globalisation ). Globalization makes all look easier. We can do a relationship with other person around  the world easily, we can buy food that's from other country, like Mc'donald. we can get information easily from television or internet. Globalization created something that's called foreign trade. Foreign trade makes all the country in the world can do economic relation. This foreign trade is important, because each country do not have all resource that's what he needs. So, each country do a trade relation with other country to fill what he needs.

But, globalization arguably can harm for developing country. There's so many foreign companies from rich country which are in developing country. There are employing workers with little wage, like in Indonesia, there's so many people live with poor, because the labor got the little reward. Still, Globalization can makes country lost his sovereign, because government policies can be easy affected by foreign. moreover, globalization can also destroy culture some country, because globalization can makes equality cultural around the world.

In my opinion, Globalization makes positive and negative affairs. But, I think Globalization is more negative impact, especially for developing country like Indonesia. Globalization only makes rich country get richer and poor country get poorer. With free trade, rich country get profit from developing country through IMF and World Bank.

So, Globalization is a matter that can not be avoided. Everyday, we feel the impact. Like I write this article use computer. This is the result from globalization. We must be wise in dealing with this, especially for sovereign state like Indonesia. We must be cautious in acting, not to eliminate our country's sovereignty.

The world in which we all share connected through Globalization by Andrean Rendra

Globalisation is a worldwide phenomenon in this contemporary era but let us know first what globalisation is. Globalisation describes a process by which different regional cultures, information, economies, languages, and whole societies become integrated into a larger, consolidated network. While often used just to describe economic tendencies in the world market, globalisation does take into account everything from migration to the spread of information and technology.
I believe Globalization is a good thing to be embraced by the world, but like all things there are a positive side and there are a negative side, let's explore this pros and cons a little further. Globalization first appears in the nations of the West like Britain, the United States and much more, so as a new player in Globalization our media does not stand a chance against the already more well developed western media so as a result our nation heavily condemns globalization in fear of children losing our cultural heritage and in turn our younger generations would be more interested in foreign culture than ours. and because of the "conservative" and not liberal views of our older generation many things brought here by Globalization such as Homosexualism, Pornography, Sex before marriage, nudity and many more is considered as immoral or taboo. on the economic side globalization also complicates things within the chain of supplies, this chain of supply is so complicated that if one fails it would ruin the entire chain and causing a worldwide economic crisis. the advantages of Globalization for Indonesia however far exceeds the disadvantages. Globalization ensures a fast, stable, and accurate means of communication and flow of information provided by the Internet. trading is extremely cut short by years, in the 17th and 18th century a ship from Amsterdam would take about a year to arrive in Jakarta but with the development of Steam engines now it would only take a few months. travel and migration now only takes a few hours thanks to the development of passenger jet aircraft in the 1950's
Global economy is a more recent term, although trading from China to Europe exist as far back as 200 BC known as the Silk Road. global economy only gained prominence during the late 19th century and the early 20th century until the present day. today Global Economy is inseparable from Globalization not only from the fact that trading is cut short as I've mentioned earlier, other economic powerhouse such as Stock Trading and the stock market is heavily influenced by Globalization, for example a Riot which occurred in Thailand recently will create fears among foreign investors of large manufacturing companies such as foxconn, mitsubishi and toyota. because manufacturing process are halted stocks of toyota, foxconn and mitsubishi goes down, creating a supply problem for the demand. investors are losing money and now turn their attention to a more stable country with cheap human resources such as Indonesia or Vietnam. from this example it is evident that even a small regional event could turn into a Globalized event in which many parties are involved or affected whether directly or indirectly that is how Globalization affects our World Economy

Hi, i'm going to discuss about what is globalization and what are the effects in economics. In general, globalization is a linkages between nations or between countries around the world through trade, technology, investment, etc., causing increasingly thin boundary between countries. In my opinion, globalization is a good thing because with globalization we can easily find out what's happening in another countries, increasing knowledge about the world, implementing good habbits that we gained from knowledge, and much more. But, the key of that all is we can get knowledge or information easily and unlimited.
Now i'm going to explain about economic's globalization. Economic sector to be one of the main objectives in the course of the process of globalization and is one of the most important fields in advancing the welfare of people in a country. Just like what happened in Europe Union, a trade organization in the Europe region that aims to boost European economy. Same as ASEAN, an organization which set up to promote the economy in ASEAN countries. Free trade is one example of the globalization of economic. Free trade is a trading system without government interference or without subsidies, customs, and tariffs. Everything is set up in the agreement, for example NAFTA and CAFTA.
But, globalization isn't always impact good things in every countries. Only developed countries are feeling the positive effects or benefits of economic globalization. Whereas for developing countries and poor countries, mostly just a matter of exploitation of the developed countries. Although not EVERY developing countries. I personally, really agree with this thing. Even there are World Bank and IMF which specifically assist developing countries and poor countries in economic globalization.
So, the conclusion is not that i'm disagree with economic globalization or anti-globalization who reject the existence of free market and etc. I agree with economic globalization system because a country could full their needs through doing a free trade with another countries. But, it should be noted again for developing countries and poor countries due not to a movement whose purpose is to improve a country's economy instead be a disaster for the country.
The question is "How developing and poor countries can feel the benefits of economic globalization ?"

Globalization

Well, hello everyone. I am going to write my first post on this blog. It is about globalization. Of course we all know, globalization is derived from the word “global”. But, do you know what is the meaning of “global”? I found it on http://glosarium.org, the meaning of global is encompassing all around the world.

Usually, globalization is linked to relations between countries and any other thing which is global and it is often called internationalization. Based on the opinion of Selo Soemardjan, the Indonesian sociologist, I found on http://carapedia.com/pengertian_definisi_globalisasi_info2058.html, globalization is a system with the same regulation following by people from all around the world. Globalization is also defined as the economic relation between countries because of the fast development of technology and goods by the IMF. I agree with those opinions, but I also have my own opinion. In my opinion, globalization is the affection which comes from the outside and it might affect the inside, the affection also becomes a lifestyle for the indigenous. Once it becomes a lifestyle, it could be barely abandoned.

For example, people these days proud of their branded clothes, especially the famous international brands such as Chanel and Prada. Not only clothes, it also occurs for technology. I am sure almost everyone use Microsoft for their operation system, or maybe Android. Is it only brands that becomes the globalization issue? No, of course not. How about the movies we watch every night on the television? Or maybe the movies in the cinema? Most of them are not local movies, they are imported. Another example I will give you is food. Some people (let us say the Indonesians) love Japanese food, Korean food, and Italian food. It can be seen from some restaurants which are spreaded out in Indonesia, such as Sushi Tei and Mad for Garlic. And the last example is music. Are you a K-Popers? Or do you like Dubstep? Even Dangdut, the Indonesia’s genre of music, is influented from India and Malay. It means, the music we hear everyday is included as the part of globalization. It is obvious that globalization has been a part of our life and hard to be separated.

The conclusion is we can not afford to get rid the globalization from our life. We live for and from globalization. Since it became a part of our life, it also affects the world economy. Why is it world economy? We use money to pay everything and money is the object of economy. We are becoming consumptive and hanging our lives to globalization. Maybe, before the globalization exists, we could live without it. But, due to the globalization these days, we are definitely hard to live without it. Honestly, I can not live without music and without international movies. I am sure almost everyone neither. I also can not live without the international news, in case that I am an International Relations student. If there was no globalization, then it would be no international relations issue. If there was no international relations issue, then International Relations study would never be existed!

Thus, this is the end of my explanations about the globalization. I hope it could be informative for the readers. I also apologize if there was anything wrong in my explanations and in use of the language. Thank you for reading and do not forget to leave any comment on my post. See you next week!
